Overheard at Chez Peanut...

Me: So apparently, in 2010, the stimulus will give us an extra $7.70 per week.
Him: Oh baby, we're rich - we can finally live the dream!
Me: ROFL
Him: Let us not spend our bounty all at once.

It was gorgeous today - mid 60s and nice enough to take the boy to the zoo so he could run off some energy.

They're predicting snow tomorrow.

Seriously, WTF???

I am watching last night's episode of Criminal Minds and am being totally freaked out by Jason Alexander (from Seinfeld, not Britney's first hubby) costumed in a white suit and a grey long haired wig. It's like Colonel Sanders gone horribly wrong...

The boy and I just discovered a new show...

Super Why on the PBS Kids channel. http://pbskids.org/superwhy/

He was fascinated by it, probably because it has lots of letters in it. It really held his attention and he got so excited when he saw the alphabet on the screen. It was pretty cute.

The joys of being a SAHM - public television goodness. :)

Unreal gas prices

$1.79 at stations where my parents live. It's still $1.84 by our house, but I'm sure it will correct in the next day or so.

Un Freakin' Believable. I never thought I'd see gas for under $2 a gallon again.

Yay for new shoes...

The little man never ceases to amaze us...

Tonight's uncontrollable giggle fit originated from me doing the dishes. The fact that I was moving the faucet head back and forth between the two sides of the sink? Funniest. Thing. Evah.

Then there was his discovery of the coolest toys in the world - plastic clothing hangers. Since I've lost almost 60 pounds since this time last year, I did a closet overhaul that resulted in 6 bags of clothing for donation, so there are quite a few empty hangers at Chez Peanut. He finds them from time to time and would probably spend all day long running around with them if we'd let him.

The little man is unique. Who needs to spend a bunch of cash on expensive toys when the boy is that amused by water and hangers?

But that certainly doesn't stop me. On my list of things to look for - a sandbox, a little basketball goal and a pusher trike. :)

Because my NCAA Tourney Bracket is looking awfully sad. Out of 28 games, I've already dropped 9 teams. Although to my credit, there were a few upsets that I didn't think anyone saw coming.

I did manage to make the fella smile last night when I explained my bracket status.

"It's a good thing that I am in a league of my own when it comes to my bracket. No matter how poorly my picks go, I'll still win, upon which time I will go shopping to celebrate me."

Yeah, I really do need to get out more. And not just to places where I sing "Dingle Dangle Scarecrow." :)

Wonder what they'll say about us...

I'm at my parents' house and my dad unearthed some books from his treasure pit. One is a refrigeration manual from the 1950s, which is a whole other story in and of itself. But he also got out some old high school yearbooks - one from 1951 when he was a sophomore, and another from 1955 when my mom was a freshman. It's pretty funny to look through them.

But what gets me the most is how old these people look in the photos. It's like they're middle aged already and they were just in their teens. I'm sure the black horn rimmed glasses and secretarial hairdo's don't help matters much.

Can't wait to see what our kids and grandkids have to say about my old yearbooks - 1992 when mall hair was at its finest. Boo-yeah. :)

On the cutest thing ever...

The boy currently has his two bottom front teeth, and the right top front is just about finished breaking through the gumline. As Chris was tickling him into a total giggle meltdown, he noticed that the surrounding gum looks awfully red and bumpy.

Eep!
